Omar Abdullah releases JKNC manifesto 2024
Manifesto promises to restore Article 370 and 35 A, Old Pension Scheme, ensure release of political prisoners, repeal of the Public Safety act (PSA), one lakh job creation
Srinagar, 19 Aug: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah Monday released the Party Manifesto 2024 during a press conference in Srinagar.
The party manifesto promises to restore Article 370 and 35 A, redraw the JK reorganisation act, Old Pension Scheme, ensure the release of political prisoners including repeal of the Public Safety act (PSA), One lakh job creation, and encouraging India-Pakistan dialogue. The party also promised 12 free cylinders to those belonging to EWS category, free travel for women in public transport, a commitment to the dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits ease of passport, and stopping unnecessary harassment of people on Highways.
In his address, Omar said, “the manifesto is a testament to our shared journey, a road map to reclaim the dignity and honour that has been the cornerstone of our identity for generations. Our challenges are vast, and the burdens our people carry are heavy. But this manifesto is our collective pledge to confront those challenges head-on, with unwavering resolve.”
The National Conference, Omar further added, has always stood as a bulwark against those who sought to undermine our identity and our rights. “We have faced unimaginable adversities, been targeted by our enemies, yet never once did we compromise on our core agenda. Today, I assure you that as long as the plough remains in the hands of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, no one can silence our genuine voice,” he said.
“Your vote has always been a voice of power, but this time it carries the weight of our collective future. This election is different. It’s a chance to correct the course, to send a resounding message that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will not be divided, will not be silenced, and will not be ignored. The fractured mandate of the past brought us to this precarious position, but with unity, we can and will rise again. This manifesto is not just a list of promises; it is a pledge with the people. It reflects the blood, sweat, and tears of those who came before us, who dreamed of a prosperous and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir. It is your voice, your aspirations, your resilience, and your resolve.”he added saying,”I stand before you as your son, your brother, your friend committed to seeing every promise in this manifesto fulfilled. Together, we will bring back the glory of our state, restore its rightful place, and ensure that no force on earth can break our resolve. With your support, with your vote, we will rise again, stronger and more united than ever.”
