Srinagar, 18 May: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday cautioned ruling BJP from interfering in the polling process.

This he said while addressing a mammoth one day workers convention at Magam. The convention was convened by In Charge Constituency Beerwah Dr.Shafi Ahmad. Among others Treasurer Shami Oberoi, Senior leaders Aga Syed Mahmood, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Mubarak Gul, Ali Muhammad Dar, Muhammad Ibrahim Mir, Sardar JS Azad, Nisar Ahmad, Muhammad Ashraf, Rayees Mattoo, Syed Nisar Hussain, Aga Syed Yousaf, Younis Mubarak Gul were also present on the occasion.

Cautioning rulling BJP to refrain from  interfering in polls, Omar said, “I don’t know whom the home minister met and I don’t want to know. But I definitely know that the home minister came here just to help in the elections. Just like Srinagar, our workers across Baramulla Parliamentary constituency have started receiving calls from administration. While the BJP has not fielded its own candidates, its B, C and D teams; be it the bucket, apple, cricket bat or ink-pot  have been working on its directions. Union Home minister had specifically come to help them. Since the BJP has no candidates running in this election, he isn’t here to campaign. Is he here to support their proxy parties?”

Asking party workers to remain firm on their ground, Omar said, “Our opponents used to say that Article 370 was hollow, but our position is that the people of Jammu and Kashmir got whatever they got till date thanks to this article. Today, our unemployed youths are stumbling door to door, electricity and drinking water are deteriorating instead of improving, our lands are in danger, the lands which were provided to the people here by Sher Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah today. Those lands are also threatened. Omar Abdullah appealed to the public that if your life has improved after August 5, 2019 and everything is fine in the current situation and you are happy, then you should vote for anyone, I don’t mind, but if your daily life If there is no improvement, then you need to make the National Conference a success.”

“If unemployment has reduced and your children have found employment, electricity supply has improved, electricity bills have come down, water supply is uninterrupted, ration supply has increased and you If the roads have been improved, then without doubt you should vote for lotus, apple, bucket, pen, and bat, but if everything is the opposite, then you should make the National Conference a success through your vote and give your message in clear words. Therefore, I appeal to you to ensure the success of National Conference in the upcoming parliamentary elections and future assembly elections, and give us the opportunity to fight to protect your rights.”
