Dr. Farooq Abdullah welcomes GM Mir, others into the party fold Says there is a ground swell of support for NC on ground
Srinagar, 16 May: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday lamented the government’s apathy of ignoring Jammu and Kashmir’s identity and culture.
He said in order to face these serious challenges, every resident of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh has to play their role thoughtfully in the current parliamentary elections and the upcoming assembly elections in September.
He made these comments while welcoming GM Mir along with his supporters. The new joinees belong to the Soibug area in Budgam district. The function was organized by party leader Amit Kaul while Minority Cell convener Jagdish Singh Azad was also present on the occasion. On this occasion, the party entrants were welcomed and garlanded with flowers.
On this occasion, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that the National Conference has faced the toughest challenges in the past like a rock and is standing firm against the current trials as well. He said that by the grace of Allah and the immense cooperation of the people, the people have given their full confidence to the National Conference in Srinagar seat and the party has also received immense support from the people in the North Kashmir and Anantnag Rajouri seats.
He said that this love of the people has made this organization stronger and this party has always considered the people as the source of power. He appealed to those who joined the party to stay in close contact with the people and to work for the success of the party candidates in the current elections.
