BJP using all tactics to help its proxies: Dr. Farooq Abdullah

Addresses massive election rally in Charar e Sharief
Srinagar, May 10: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Friday

appealed to people to use their right to vote with courage and reject those parties and elements, who have destroyed the special status of this historic state.

He made these comments while addressing a massive election rally in Charar-e-Sharif in support of party candidate for Srinagar Parliamentary seat Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi. The event was organized by senior party leader and in-charge Charar-e-Sharief Abdul Rahim Rather while party candidate Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi also addressed the gathering.

In his address, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that there is an urgent need to defeat the hostile elements in Kashmir and send a clear  message to the unaccountable bureaucratic system here.

He said that the BJP is not contesting elections in Kashmir itself, but at the moment is supporting its A, B, C and D teams against the National Conference. “In order to divide the votes, people are being divided on the basis of region, language and religion, tactics of using notes are also being adopted and people need to be alert to deal with this situation. Today’s election is an opportunity to send a message to the country and the world that what happened to Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 has not been accepted by the people here,” he said.

He said the communal forces are hell-bent on destroying the country’s constitution. “At this time, people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing severe hardships and sufferings. Unemployment is on the rise, people are deprived of basic needs, people are not heard anywhere at the official and administrative level. Inflation is on the rise today. BJP had said that 2 crore jobs will be provided every year, according to this the Modi government had to provide 20 crore jobs in 10 years of government. Where are these jobs? Loud claims of providing jobs and employment have been made in our Jammu and Kashmir but in the last 5 years the unemployment rate has broken all records. Currently 15 lakh highly educated unemployed people are sitting at home and crossing the age limits.”
